In their own words
Textile trader, Penang
"I came in thinking I had a cash flow problem. After the session, I realised the actual issue was something else entirely — how I was pricing repeat customers versus new ones. The written summary helped me explain the situation to my husband as well."
Taking Root Review · May 2025
F&B operator, George Town
"We were considering opening a second location and kept going back and forth. Razif did not tell us what to do — he helped us see the two real risks we had been avoiding thinking about. The Branching Out plan gave us a clearer picture of what the next year would need to look like before committing."
Branching Out Advisory · April 2025
Professional services, KL
"I have been on the Full Canopy programme for seven months now. It is not what I expected — I thought it would be like having a consultant who tells me things. It is more like having a sensible person to think with every month. That is worth more to me."

Small manufacturer, Kedah
"I was sceptical about paying for someone to listen to me. But the written summary from the Taking Root session contained two observations I had never quite articulated to myself. It was worth the RM 570 just for that."
Taking Root Review · March 2025
Retail shop owner, Ipoh
"The session was online since I am in Ipoh, and it worked well. Siew Lin was easy to talk to and did not rush me. I particularly liked that she said clearly at one point that a question I was asking was better handled by my accountant — I found that reassuring rather than dismissive."
Taking Root Review · April 2025
Services business, Johor Bahru
"I started with the Branching Out Advisory after a recommendation from a friend. We are now five months into the Full Canopy programme. What I value most is the consistency — the same adviser, the same unhurried pace, the notes after every session."

Three client journeys, in brief
These accounts are shared with client permission. Names and identifying details have been adjusted.
Branching Out Advisory · 3 months
The Situation
A second-generation owner had taken over from her father and was uncertain which parts of the business to continue, which to change, and which to wind down. The business was profitable but she felt pulled in several directions at once.
The Work
Two sessions helped her map out each part of the business clearly. The written plan identified three product lines that were consuming significant time for modest return. It also noted two opportunities she had not fully considered.
Six Months Later
She discontinued one product line and redirected that capacity toward a neighbouring market segment. Within six months the business was generating around 15% more margin on roughly the same turnover.
"The session helped me see what was already there. I had all the information — I just needed someone to help me look at it without the noise."

The Situation
A sole trader with six years in business who felt unable to step back even for a week. All decisions, all client contact, all production queries — everything came to him. He was considering whether to take on a part-time employee.
The Work
Monthly sessions over eight months helped him think through which functions he genuinely needed to own versus which he was holding onto out of habit. The advisory plan tracked this gradually, without pushing a particular timeline.
Eight Months Later
He hired a part-time production assistant, documented his core client process, and took his first full week away from the business without the usual anxiety. He attributes the pace of the change to having the monthly session as a regular check-in.
"Arif asked me once why I was handling the thing I just described. I could not answer immediately. That question sat with me for weeks."
Taking Root Review, then Branching Out · 2 months
The Situation
A husband-and-wife team running an online retail business with growing sales but no clear idea of which products were actually profitable. They had been adding new lines for two years without removing anything.
The Work
The Taking Root Review produced a simple written map of their product lines against available margin data. This led directly to the Branching Out Advisory, which helped them build a framework for deciding which products to keep and which to phase out over the following quarter.
Three Months Later
They removed eleven product lines and focused on their eight strongest categories. Logistics became more manageable, customer returns dropped, and the business felt smaller in a good way — more something they could see clearly.
"We were measuring success by how many products we offered. That was the wrong measure and no one had told us plainly until the session."
